Doctoral Internship Training Program

Solara Psychological Services - Internship Information

 Welcome to Solara Psychological Services, where we are committed to developing the next generation of thoughtful, competent, and compassionate clinical psychologists. Our one-year, full-time APA-guided internship program provides rich clinical experiences across a range of populations, with strong supervision, interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for specialization. 

Internship Overview

 

We offer both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral placements, adhering to APPIC standards. Interns gain supervised experience across various settings and populations, including:

  • Neuropsychological assessment (adults, older adults, children)
     
  • Therapy services (individual, family, and group)
     
  • Forensic evaluations (when applicable)
     
  • Integrated care models (e.g., work with neurologists or primary care physicians)
     
  • Multidisciplinary consultation

Unique Opportunities at Solara

 

  • Work directly with referring providers including neurologists, attorneys, and school systems
     
  • Specialize in aging and memory disorders, pediatric assessment, or forensic psychology
     
  • Option to observe or participate in expert testimony preparation and court-related procedures
     
  • Participate in case conferences, journal clubs, and team supervision
     
  • Exposure to private practice operations and documentation systems

Supervision & Support

 

  • Weekly individual supervision by licensed psychologists
     
  • Group supervision and didactics on ethics, diagnosis, multicultural issues, and specialty topics
     
  • Emphasis on professional identity development, self-awareness, and clinical reasoning

Who We’re Looking For

 

  • Doctoral students (PhD/PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (preferrable from a APA-Accredited Program)
     
  • Strong foundational training in assessment and therapy
     
  • Interest in working with diverse populations in a dynamic outpatient setting
     
  • Professionalism, maturity, and curiosity
